I have already talked about how Google and God wouldn’t get along.
Now I have proof.
Brizzly recently announced that tweets in another language will be translated to English on the fly using Google Translate’s new real-time translation tools. This means Brizzly is now the only Twitter client breaking down one of our biggest barriers allowing us to connect to other people, language.
And guess what?
Google is the main reason Brizzly can translate tweets in real-time, Google is now playing a very important role in connecting people, even if it is behind the scenes.
This feature inclusion though is especially important for Google because the Twitter client space is very competitive. Do not be surprised when other Twitter clients start adopting the same feature and use Google’s Translate tools to speed up the process, and don’t expect this to stay Twitter client exclusive.
You can expect that many other web and desktop clients will do the same thing, they will have to. Features like this in social products will be expected, and since start-ups don’t have the money to create their own real-time translation tools, guess who they will be depending on to do so?
Google.
You thought I was joking when I said Google and God wouldn’t get along, didn’t you?
