Three Services To Track Your Company’s Name

Keeping track of what people are saying and sharing about your company is a requirement when your company enters the social media realm. Good thing that for just as many services that serve as a platform to discuss your business, there are just as many services that will help you discover what people are saying about your company across the most popular platforms. Here are three great services that will make this job very easy for you.

1. TweetGrid

Right now Twitter is the main destination for all kinds of people to voice there thoughts and opinions instantaneously. It makes sense for your company to keep your eye on such a hot destination on the web. Tweetgrid is an easy to use web service that allows you to input multiple search queries at one time and watch the new results roll along in real-time.

While TweetGrid gets the job done, it doesn’t mean it is the prettiest application to use. It definitely lacks some UI pleasantries that many people are so accustom to. Also, there does exist a lack of features one of which is the lack of notifications for new search results. All in all though, if you simply want to occasionally drop in, TweetGrid will get the job done right quick.

Sometimes having an app completely dedicated to tuning into your audience is needed. Yahoo! Sideline does one thing and one thing only, search Twitter. There are no extra frills involved nor are there a mass amount of features that are thrown in your face.

At first this might seem a bit limiting, but such simplicity is actually really helpful. Yahoo! Sideline lets you conduct multiple Twitter searches and provides excellent features to help you organize your various search queries into groups. Since Yahoo! Sideline is also a native application on your computer, you get the added bonus of notifications when new search results appear.  Check out the video below that explains how Yahoo! Sideline works in its full glory.

3. Sobees

Sobees is a powerful and well thought out browser based application. Sobees allows you to conduct search queries across popular social media sites such as Twitter, FriendFeed and OneRiot all in real-time. Sobees also packs a few punches with the ability to log into your Twitter and Facebook accounts, turning Sobees into a very powerful full fledged social media application.

With that said, there are some disadvantages to Sobees that can be fairly striking. First one is that Sobees is built on Silverlight which is an uncommon plug-in on most computers. Sobees also tends to be a little slow when you first fire the application up which can be a tad bit frustrating for many people. These downfalls aside, Sobees is a great as well as powerful application to help you keep track of your company’s name on the web.
